Lancia is a gloriousĀ Italian brand.Ā And is doomed to death. Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat Group, of which Lancia is a part, has no doubts: the brand has noĀ “appeal”Ā in more lucrative markets and it makes no sense to invest money for new models.
The end of aĀ glorious history
Some would like to compare the downward spiral of the italian brandĀ with that of the Saab. It seems to me a strained comparison.
TheĀ amount of historical models and great innovations made by the Lancia is not comparable to that of the Swedish brand. Neither the number of colossal mistakes. Of course the Saab Ā 600, rebadge of the Lancia Delta and the experience of the joint-venture Saab 9000 / Lancia Thema Ā / AlfaRomeo 164, were signs of a common destiny.
How to forget Lancia?
However, in spite of the short-sightedness of the management, theĀ brand is always printed in the minds of many video-gamers and potential customers! His experience in rallying, his countless victories make the brand immortal. As well as the extraordinary beauty of some of its models.

Despite all these wins and a great relaunch, which, as already mentioned, the brand still benefits, the leadership Fiat has doneĀ a series of errors caused by the need to spend less on developing new Lancia models.
Everything starts with the Delta II product that refuses to collect the legacy of the previous generation victorious. A car already then studied to be sold only in Italy.
Killing the brand Autobianchi, Lancia began to produce small cars in the series Y (name derived from ‘ancestor Autobianchi Y10, already sold abroad as a Lancia Y10) and other models derived from Fiat. No model has since then been engineered exclusively for the Lancia. And then, yes, this is a premeditated murder.
